Okay so lets start with one of the topics I talk about most, and that being WORK yeah that’s the lovely 4 letter word that is noticed as a swear word in some households. Lol. Oh well not in my world. My world exists of just work and no play woo for me. Anyways so seeing as I have been working my bum off since I finally re-obtained my job back, it has in a way paid off. So overall I am very happy with my new job role as well as the pay rise. I am still however ranked as a casual employee which means my premium is higher therefore I am more expensive to hire as a staff member resulting in me not getting as many hours as I would appreciate. Oh well I am appreciative of the opportunity that this job title can give me in the future. After all opportunity is the theme of this blog post right.

Onto number two which still revolves around work. Like i said WORK=My LIFE I entered this competition at the beginning of the year with the employees Staff website where you go to fill out forms for employee of the month and you do training modules etc. Anyways this one particular competition i entered was a ‘New Ideas’ . What that involved was entering your idea on how to improve the store and its functionality. In the shorter version of the story I entered my idea and I won, I didn’t only win within my store but I won regional! Another Store Manager from NSW had nominated me to win. And I did. So I got to go to this fancy dinner paid by the company and I got to meet all the BIG GUYS. You know the ones you always hear about but you’ve never meet them. So talk about opportunity for some kind of a future with the company, I was very excited indeed. I even got a trophie and flowers. Proud is what I am.

After that I have been studying like a mad hawk. It is so close to the end. In fact I actually handed my last assessment in today! WOO, our college is hosting an exhibition night on Thursday and we have people coming from the industry to visit and see all of our assignments. It is also possible that they will be handing out jobs! So because of my awesomeness I am pretty confident I might be amoungst one of them. It was a funny story actually I was just sitting around in class talking to the people who are organising the whole gig. And they said to me “Oh yeah cause you’re giving the speech on the night aren’t you?!” I looked at them with confusion “What the?, since when?”
the girls replied “well your name is on the board…” so yeah pretty much I have to give the speech on the night because I got nominated by SOMEONE?!? Well overall it turned out to be good! There was about 150 or so people there and I of course didn’t prepare anything and just had to wing it. There was people there with video cameras and photo cameras, it kind of felt a bit like paparazzi. But I didn’t mind, everyone said I did amazing.

Well this is just a quick update, I shall write more when I get home from Yamba !

Oh how so many songs can relate to my life at the moment. I don’t know if it is only me that does that on this planet. But whenever I hear a song I somehow relate it to my life and its situations. It’s amazing how some songs out there can express how you actually feel without you saying anything. Anyways the point being that the sunshine is heading my way!

Okay so I will try and elaborate as much as possible. In the beginning of June I was having a complete downer of life and just could not be bothered with anything anymore. I’d pretty much just lost all hope for anything and absolutely everything seemed to tick me off. BUT me being me the positive self that I am, has once again turned everything inside out and began seeing the positives. I remember once at high school I got marked down for an assignment because I took the positive approach rather then the typical negative, that is our so called societies way of life….(wtf?!) nowadays anyways. So I asked why? And the answer was…. “It’s easier to be negative”. I don’t know what anyone else thinks of that statement but I personally think that that is a load of crap. No wonder so many people are so unsuccessful. I get it that it’s easier to blame someone else for something that went wrong in your life or whatever… but who is benefiting from you being negative? In my experience negative attracts more negative and visa versa. Thus resulting in you feeling more negative, it’s kind of like a vicious cycle. Anyhow I am to begin with, a positive person so I have to work hard to be negative and there is no real good outcome so I don’t bother.

So around mid June Amy’s life had turned itself around and things were falling into place. Everything that I wanted or needed was just attracting itself to me. Work just seems to be getting better and better, and I continue to love my job more and more. It’s literally insane how much my job makes me happy. I kind of pride myself off of it. I had been looking for an opportunity to continue my singing as well. I had mentioned it to a friend in the passing who had recommended me to a local choir who does performances and everything. So this got me all excited. Singing has always seemed to take me to another universe and it puts me in a place where I am at peace and content with myself. I have to say that it has been one of the biggest highlights of my year so far. In addition to those great opportunities that have just attracted themselves to me my social life has been kicking off! I feel like a little Miss Princess Popular lately. And I have to say I don’t look back at all, whatever has changed in my life has made me see who I am and what I am actually capable of. I’ve been having

fantastic nights out with heaps of new people. And making some classic memories that just make me want to do it all over again.

The best part about this is like I said earlier “plenty of sunshine heading my way” I do not yet feel like it is the end, I think I am only just beginning to see the sun up ahead and the sunshine is due to shine its way on over me for the next couple of months! So all I have to say to that is Thank you. And my word “I’ve got the power” when it comes to positive thinking. Just believe and it comes true.

So some other news about me, seeing as this blog is all about me. I have just finished my mid semester holidays and am back to studying this semesters assignments are looking very exciting and I cannot wait to get stuck into them! Although I am aware that I may revert to my hermitish ways during this period… I am desperately going to try and proceed with a balance of social life and work life. Fingers crossed I get it right this time. I do have a great timetable so I have that to be thankful for. And on the plus side my motivation is alive and kicking again so bring it on! I love challenges.

So I guess that you can catch my drift, in my life the old doors seem to be closing and the new ones are flinging themselves open and inviting me right in. Plus it’s my birthday next week so I can only dream of what goods in store for me. Because a dream is a wish the heart makes, and dreams really do come true! ♥♥♥

……..My Oh My What A Wonderful Day………….

Ok now onto some news of Amy’s Rollercoaster of a life. Omg that could not be described any better then that ROLLER COASTER. Yup it fits so well because like a roller coaster it goes up and down just like life but then wait for it, Amy’s life in particular deserves to have twists and turns involved as well. Yippee life wouldn’t be worth blogging without this wonderful feature now would it? Ha-ha, many a times I have been told to write a book about my life’s story and that it would be a best seller. I mean geez I think I could write a series of books maybe even movies and it can be like a hit like that Twilight crap. Lol if only.

Ha-ha anyways now that I have had my whinge I will get on with it. Currently I am on holidays. Now holidays is normally a fun word because the definition of holidays is; a time or period of exemption from any requirement, duty, assessment, etc thus meaning in English time for new scenery to spend with friends having fun and doing whatever it is that you please, away from your everyday life. So as it might be that I am in fact on 5 weeks holiday, I am still wound up at home?!?! I’m sorry I think I got lost in translation there. It is end of semester break and I didn’t plan anything for my break that could half be my fault. Why because being a casual employee that means that I actually have to work for a living. Not that I don’t love my job because I do. I just think that time away in another place would just be ace right about now. So yes I am spending my so called ‘holidays’ working. If I had friends I would see them but for some reason they have all disappeared. Convenient because I think I need them most at the moment. Oh well as my one of my friends would say “have a can of concrete, and harden the F*&K up” so that’s what I am doing.

My parents have returned from their really long trip to Thailand. They went overseas for five weeks to celebrate their 39^th wedding anniversary. All I can say is wow congrats to them, 39 years is a long time! It was fun for me while they were away though because it was just myself and my brother living together. We didn’t have any questions as to where we were going and what we were doing and the best one what time will you be home? It was cool, I mean I did get stuck with the grocery shopping every week taken out of my pay. Which I still cant manage to understand because I am the younger one isn’t the older sibling meant to look after the baby? Lol. I guess I got the job because I actually work in a shopping centre. So my brother had a party while they were away and as usual he was showing off by pouring fuel into the bon fire and then deciding to walk over the top of it. It just annoys me sometimes because sometimes its just silly, so I ended up just going to bed. And un-expectantly I had a phone call, who could it be? I had a surprise visitor it was my friend Simon. He who was already invited to this party didn’t come because he had another party to go to, but hey it was all cool in the end the night turned out well.  Oh something tragic but half funny happened to me while my parents were away. As much as I shouldn’t laugh at my own misfortune I do anyway. Its not like you cant say that you don’t laugh at other peoples misfortune…. Admit it when the coppers have pulled someone else over you laugh right or how about when someone else locks their keys in their car then its hilarious, especially if you know them. Anyways back to me, I was at work on one of those glorious Fridays. For some particular reason I really wasn’t in the mood for working and I guess nature didn’t want me to work either. So it played out like this

Customer rocks up to my register;

Amy: Hi how are you going?

Customer: Good thank you and yourself? (The customer goes to get the 24xcan cat food out of the trolley)

Amy: Good thanks, oh don’t worry I can scan the item from here (reaches over the bench with the scanner in the hand and scans both 24 packs of cat food) BLEEP, BLEEP

Amy: That’s $35.36 thank you

Customer: Oh that’s not the right price (Amy looking confused)

Amy: How much is it meant to be?

Customer: its two for $30 on sale there was a ticket down there.

Amy: Oh Ok I will have to get someone to check the price for me hold on

Meanwhile the bell rings and we made an announcement for customer service to register 9 which was my register. About 10 minutes pass and still no answer. So I figured hey its quiet lets go check the price myself, customer service right?!?! Oh wait I should close my register off first before I leave. I don’t wanna be responsible for any thieves leaving through there. So as I shut the gate off. The steel gate falls out off the carcase and lands on my ankle! OUCH!!! It was pure square steel about 7 kg falling from about 600mm straight onto pure ankle bone. So off I limped to check the price and finished the sale. I then continued onto the back dock where I received first aid. After two hours of ice and pain I still couldn’t feel my ankle. I ended up having to either go to the hospital or the 24 hour medical centre. I choose the medical centre because it would be a less of a wait. The managers all helped me out they were great. So out of the store I got wheeled on a wheelie chair. Funny sight I am sure. Anyways I had a fun time getting home too because I drive a manual car you see. Which naturally involves driving with both feet. Lol. I ended up on crotches for 5 days and then limping for a further 2 days. It wasn’t broken it was just tissue damage and bruising. I was still on suitable duties though which involved sitting down for my whole shift. Yeah did you read that, I hurt myself at work and still have to go to work! Man that’s what you call DET..I…CATION!!!!! The pain subsided after about 2 weeks and I was all set to go back to my full duties. Ok so why I laugh at my misfortune because you should have seen me on those crotches absolute LOL. I looked like a complete tool un-co as on those things, I would make a terrible disabled person.  I am sorry to inform you that I do not have any photos of this fun time. But ask anyone from big w I am sure they will agree.

So I think that’s enough about what’s been going on. Let’s talk about what’s going to be going on… I am hoping that during my holidays I achieve some of these things. It has taken me a while to develop a list of things I would like to do because I am so not used to having so much time to myself. It drives you crazy I tell you. Anyways here it is;

1. Go to a theme park with some friends so either Dreamworld, Movie World or Wet n Wild (sorry Sea Worlds too boring)
2. Go to at least one party/ club where I actually get drunk and have fun
3. Replant my cacti garden and buy some more, maybe start a vegetable garden
4. Go to the movies to see Shrek 4
5. Possibly tidy my room (still deciding on that one)
6. Have a picnic or something on the beach just sit on the sand and listen to the waves (I’ll think of you all in Belgium) if it weren’t winter I would swim too

Okay so that’s what I have so far. As you can see a lot of it probably wont happen. But with luck and pursuing it might actually happen! Its all about timing and planning really. Like who wants to clean there room? While you could be out at a party but it could rain so then Shrek 4 would be just ace. There’s just soo many options. Now just to convince my friends to come along ha-ha lol. Good luck. So far my I have been watching the TV series ‘That 70’s Show’ and wow that show is funny. I have the whole series so seasons 1-9 so there’s a lot of TV watching happening at the moment. But being house bound is boring. So I’m trying to get out a bit. Anyone have any suggestions? Please add any ideas I would love to hear them. Well that’s me for now if anything new happens I will be sure to post it. Seeing as I do have so much time now. Ha-ha
