Two Months Delayed… No Excuse

To all my blog readers, I have been the worst blogger ever. I have left you in the dark for almost two months! There has been so much happening in my life lately that its even hard for me to keep up! So I think pretty much where I left you off was that I have just gotten my job back at Big W and I was like FINE…A…LY man that took soo long to happen. Anyways pretty much since I started there back in November, the 11th to be precise. I was promoted within the first 3 weeks to being the customer service associate who deals with all customer complaints, returns, account sales, deliveries, repairs, general enquiries and playing part in helping the service supervisor with price checks and running the show. So its pretty awesome. Pretty much the pyramid goes like this…

1. Store Manager
2. Assistant store manager
3. Business managers including (home, leisure, consumables, night and apparel)
4. Service Super Visor
5. Courtesy Desk service operator                <———-  That’s me
6. Check out operator
7. Recovery and  night fill

So there you have it I am there at number 5!!!! It can’t get any awesomer then that, for now. So yeah I worked it out over my 3 months holiday that I had off of studying I managed to have a total of 20 days off. And that definitely wasn’t in a row. So I pretty much live at Big w these days. It’s good because (A) I love my job and (B) I get paid to be there, plus (C) I get paid to hang out with friends. Now thats an awesome life. Well as far as work goes. Anyways enough about work. Well I will briefly touch on what else I managed to have time for whilst not being at work….which isnt much.

I managed to go to the beach once, which was definitely on my list of things to do and seeing as the temperatures here lately are like sky rocketing you really need an outlet. Pools are good but the surf at Coolangatta is something that I could really never live without. I was disappointed that I only went once, but at this rate the temperatures aren’t going to be changing anytime soon. So I have a little bit more of time.

I have been frantically converting my room to the new Amy. Like I mentioned once before I am renovating my room. I bought all new furniture which took a while with all the research and time visiting and comparing shops. But eventually I got it all in the end. My new Queen size bed is like sleeping in clouds and its amazing I have soo much room to spread out in. “It’s ALL MINE!” it even has spinal care.  The flat screen TV is still in lay-by as I want this to be the final touch to my room. All of my furniture is now set up and looking amazing, I just have to put back everything like clothes and stuff. The pretty furniture is just sitting there empty at the moment.

Oh big news! I’m Gay…. haha just joking. Nah my car is shitting itself. Pretty much I have owned it for 7 months and I have driven it since October. Therefore 3.5 months. Since I began driving it; my timing belt went, my breaks went and now my gear box is going… the mechanic reckons I have another 6 months left before it dies. Otherwise I can spend more then $1500 to get it fixed and even then it might not work. Driving that car is so scary, talk about trying to give someone a heart attack! Heres how it goes. My car is a ford laser 1986 model (24 yrs) Automatic, so what has happened is the gear box has forgotten how to change gears and is heaps delayed. So I will be driving up a slight hill and my car will be going vroom putt putt putt putt CRACK putt putt putt vrooom putt putt putt CRACK putt putt CRACK putt CRACK putt vrooom. Meanwhile you’ve only reached about 50km/h then it does it all over again. The idea is just don’t stop on a hill cause then your screwed. Next thing that my awesome car does, is you will be waiting patiently at the round-a-bout and then there is an opening so you put your foot down … … … nothing … … … vroom putt putt…. so yeah you put your foot down and 5 seconds later the car moves. Now thats what you call potential accident causing. Shit scary stuff. I have to tell you though my confidence at driving has really improved! I will never be invisible though, cause I am not a dick head. But yes so my most recent delima was…. my Rego. It was running out on the 2nd of February so I figured hey lets buy a new car before then so then I don’t have to buy Rego and not use it.
So on Australia Day Public holiday (26/1/10) Mum,Dad and I went around to every single Hyundai dealer in Brisbane to find me the car I wanted, which was a Hyundai Getz. Originally I loved the look of the cars Suzuki swift, Hyundai Getz, Mazda 3 and Ford fiesta. After doing much research the Getz was a thousand times better. So thats what I was looking for. Most car dealers are assholes. They don’t even try to help you and they wont listen to what you want to say. Eventually we found this awesome car dealer who said he will do anything to get me what I wanted and because it was Australia day he was feeling nice. It was 2009 run out models going for sale for $13990 he was selling me the Getz of my choice..yellow. For $13100 I was like deal! But then he spoke to his boss and came back with ‘I will sell you a brand new not even released yet 2010 Getz model for the price of the 2009 model (13990)’ so I pretty much made the deal then. So yup I am getting a brand new car. PROBLEM… getting finance! no one wants to give me a loan because I have been working at big w as a casual, man life is hard. So yeah I am currently in the process of finding funding. Oh yeah and get this my Rego ran out so yeah had to pay for it anyway. But look at it this way I got a brand new car worth 17990 for 13990! I win.

I also through a surprise 50th birthday party for one of my friends Alix. It was a Michael Jackson, 60′s theme.She didnt even have a clue, and I had invited her family from all around Sydney, Melbourne and North Queensland. Her whole family was there except one sister and Jason of course. Everyone had a fantastic time she was very thankful, every one there thanked me for my time and effort that I put into this. Considering I didn’t know any of them. I ended up speaking french to some of Alix’s family. Over all it was a fantastic night. Monica and I made her this photo album of her from when she was young until now, and we wrote funny comments next to the photos. We thought she would kill us, so we made sure we passed the book around and showed everyone and got them to sign the back! It will be an awesome memory for her. Oh Jason also sent a birthday message from Japan which she really loved, she kept asking me all night when she was allowed to watch it! I really wanted her to have a birthday she would remember. I think we pulled that one off!

Pretty much other then that its only recent news like as in last weeks news. Which is I have made a friend. Someone who I have a lot in common with, who I can talk to and hang out with. It’s great we hang out a lot I think we went out together twice in three days till midnight. Not to mention we work together so we see each other all the time. But I think it’s really great, although I have the tendancy to make a dick of myself a lot. I just say the wrong things at the wrong times and we end up in stitches even when we look back on it now we can’t stop laughing. But its like a ‘you had to be there’ kinda moment.

Oh Piano, how can I forget that. I am getting really really good now. Not like Beethoven good but I can look at music and sus it out and play it. My left hand is getting stronger and easier to play with so thats awesome. When I have fully studied a piece I will try to record it and post it up for you guys. But in the mean time thats me for now.
